01. Becca Hatch - Bass Keeps Calling

The bass called, and Becca Hatch answered. Kicks and snares crash at a dizzying drum & bass tempo. The low-end is undeniably subwoofer-ready, with every rumble reminiscent of an earthquake. The synths are vibrant, floating alongside Becca’s soft melodies. This one is bound to get you moving this Friday evening.

02. Schoolboy Q - Yeern 101

Schoolboy Q been missing from the rap scene for a while, and on ‘Yeern 101’, he’s rapping like he’s got time to make up. The fast flurries of his flows feel fueled by a hunger to remind us he is really that dude. These barrages are supported by the bass-heavy blasts of the production handled by Cardogotwings. This track is expected to appear on Schoolboy’s new album, Blue Lips, which is dropping on March 1st.

03. Kitty Ca$h - Time Machine ft. Thundercat, James Fauntleroy

Kitty Ca$h captures the feeling of Summer in this new single. The DJ and producer channels the vibrance of sunshine throughout, with warm synths gleaming alongside some bass grooves from Thundercat. On vocals is the one and only James Fauntleroy, who toggles through sections of ear-catching R&B goodness. This is that Margarita-on-the-beach-type music.

04. Maina Doe - Witness

This new Maina Doe track is a blockbuster. Some big keys resonate throughout, serving as the perfect background for her howling melodies. Atmospheric synths swirl throughout, giving the song a sense of grandeur. In moments, Maina goes full falsetto and executes it with such elegance that there’s no way arenas aren’t in her future.

05. Muroki - Bad Dreams

Muroki’s ‘Bad Dreams’ is a dose of digital soul. Funky basslines blast to the tempo of dance-inducing drums. Retro synth layers spiral throughout, reminiscent of 80s new wave. The New Zealand artist’s voice is yelpy and animated, making every section of the track exciting. ‘Bad Dreams’ is, ironically, the perfect companion for a good time.

06. Nokz78 - TTS

‘TTS’ features a formula that’s hard to deny. It’s reflective raps over soul-sample-based boom-bap beat. The difference here is Nokz78, who brings his unique knack for storytelling and gritty voice to the mix, enhancing every sense of motivation this song possesses. It’s vulnerable, feel-good, and a fitting celebration for a truly exciting emcee.

07. WHO SHOT SCOTT - MI6

WHO SHOT SCOTT’s ‘MI6’ is some blood-pumping espionage. Fast-moving production feels like a car-chase scene in a James Bond movie. SCOTT’s flows bounce across the mix like he’s doing vocal parkour. House-infused keys occur on the hook, letting the artist let off his ear-catching melodies. This action-packed track is an instant highlight on WHO SHOT SCOTT’s new EP BRAIN (Side A), which you can stream now.

08. Forest Claudette - Kobe Beef

Forest Claudette’s ‘Kobe Beef’ may be the best dish they’ve served yet. It’s filled with the R&B flavour we’ve come to love them for, rich with vehement melodies and a truly impressive falsetto. The track is garnished with some psychedelic synths and an essence of swagger throughout Forest’s cadence, taking this one to a whole new level.

09. Tommy Gunn, Chandler Jewels - SHUT DOWN

‘SHUT DOWN’ is a feel-good trap ballad. The production pairs rattling hi-hats with some bubbly synths, serving as the perfect backdrop for Tommy Gunn and Chandler Jewels to let off their croons. Without a doubt, this one will be stuck in your head all weekend.

010. Yeat - Psycho CEO

Yeat is back, and as we hoped, the man is getting weird. ‘Psycho CEO’ is an orchestra of harsh synths, pulsating together and sounding like some sort of futuristic horror movie. Yeat’s autotuned warbles creep their way through the mix, like a broadcast from some extraterrestrial being. The drums smash like meteors, and the bass blasts off like a damn rocket ship. The best part yet? This is only the first of 22 new songs that make up Yeat’s new album 2093, which you can stream now.
